Local Produce tastes Better

Why Local?

Farm to Face

Recent studies show that locally grown food travels an average of 56 miles from farm to point of sale.  Conventionally sourced food travels an average of 1,494 miles!  The respective time in transport is about one hour vs. close to 27 hours.  That’s for products grown in the U.S.  Meanwhile, 40% of fruit comes from outside the U.S.  We are confident that our potatoes taste better because they haven’t been shipped in and out of warehouses or sitting in the back of trucks.  Bender Potatoes taste better because they go directly from our Farm to your face!
Why Local?

Shaley Loam Soil

Bender Potatoes are grown on a farm with shaley loam soil, giving them a distinct flavor.  Some people have even said that Bender Potatoes taste like they are grown in butter!  Does soil really change the taste?  I guess that depends how you would answer the Nature vs. Nurture question?  Yes!
